Possible dystonia? essential tremor?
I’m a 28 year old male, and I have had a weird spasm or tremor in my right arm/shoulder area, my hands feel pretty steady but when I do fine motor skills such as eating, drinking, peeing, buttoning shirts my right arm has the urge to move on its own, like outwards it feels like and it’s uncontrollable, I often have to use my left hand for certain tasks,I’ve had it for many years now at least 8-10 years I’d say, I’ve never got checked up, what could be the cause of this?

It sounds like Dystonia. Google it and see if you think it matches your symptoms. Do u take any medicine ?
Best thing to do is to go see a nuerologist to find out for sure what it could be.
I’ve done research on dystonia but I feel like it doesn’t really relate to my symptoms at all, I can’t find anything online that really relates to me, I take no medication , I’ve never taken medication my whole life, I eat a clean diet and workout about 5 times a week, I’m pretty active
I’m definitely going to do that! I’m an EMT and interferes with my work it’s so frustrating
I would definitely see a neurologist. It's possible it could be a "Functional (Psychogenic) Movement Disorder." I was diagnosed as having it almost a year ago. If you read up on it, you will find that it encompasses a wide range of symptoms which quite often are not shared by all patients. For me, stress and anxiety bring on uncontrolled movements and at times stuttering. Fortunately, 300mg of Gabapentin three times a day allows me to lead a fairly normal life.
Thank you so much for your comment! It interferes with my work! I’m an EMT and it’s crucial to have fine motor skills, I’m definitely gonna try and see a neurologist, it’s so weird because I feel my hands are both steady but it’s just mainly right arm/elbow area where it moves involuntarily, sometimes even at rest , especially holding something it triggers it along with my adrenaline running
adrianfregos24, How about looking into Pasrkinson's Disease (do your own research before heading off to a neurologist, so you'll know exactly what to ask, what you should be asking) I had many of my Parkinson's symptoms in my late twenties, bur didn't get diagnosed until my temors had gone away for many years before they returned. I pestered my Epilepsy-Specialist Neurologist for years before he finally sent me for a Dat Scan. Though he was obviously trying to soothe me with results of No Parkinson's, I flunked the test! I had PD, and the truth behind the tremors, the walking a straight line that in fact always steered me to the right until I corrected myself or bumped the wall ....... on my last visit to this neurologist, he handed me a folded paper and said I'd want to read it soon, because this was his diagnosis: Tardive Dyskenesia. Good guess, dude. As always, my own preparation would have empowered me, but I was remiss. At any rate, you really need to see a neurologist for guidance and testing. Good luck. I hope you don't have to wait 40 years for an explanation, like I did. Best of wishes.
