PMR and travel

I am wondering if anyone has traveled outside the country while tapering? If so, would like any travel recommendations. Thank you.

I'm on my way from Los Angeles to Paris and wonder how to time my 3Mg of Prednisone dose. I have been consistently taking it at breakfast (around 7am). In Paris this would mean 4pm.
Do others continue to keep to their home time zone while traveling? Thank you.

I don’t recall what I did. I would time it so your body gets the drugs within the same number of hours. (Even if it’s 4 pm) continuity. you might ultimately end up skipping a dose. Then make it up upon return. Your dose seems small enough to me, that you will be ok if you get a tiny bit more or less.

I am leaving tomorrow on a 38 day trip Starting with transatlantic cruise to Southampton and the 3 back to back cruises to Netherlands, British Isles, and then up coast of Norway to arctic circle to try to see northern lights. Then flying to Rekjavik Iceland before returning home
I take Kevzara and am on 10 mg per day of prednisone split in 2 doses . Don't plan to taper during trip but will once we return. I will adjust timing of medication to new time zones to keep at same local times each day
Will take Kevzara in cooler bag designed for refrigerated medicine

I travel quite a bit out of the US. I have a canister with a freezer block for the daily, weekly and bi-weekly injectables I take. They are kept in a plastic bag, so when I have to switch to ice for cooling, the water stays away from the injectables. On the day of leaving the US, I follow my normal dosing schedule. When I arrive at my destination, I switch over dosing to the new time zone. I am fortunate that none of my meds are rigid in timing, ie they are morning or bedtime, not exactly at 24 hr intervals. I also travel mostly to places with a 8-9 hr time difference. Things are off a bit that day and then again the day I get home. I reviewed my plan with my doctor, and for the meds I take, this works.

I just got back from a trip to Ireland. Even though I was much more active on the trip with fewer rest breaks than at home, I felt much better. The only reason I can think of is reduced stress from being away from work and the wonderful attitude of the Irish people. 🙂

Might be the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. Enjoy it!
