Treatment & Travel: Please offer your opinion
I am struggling with the decision if should I cancel my 2 week hiking trip to Slovenia in early September.
I plan to start SBRT, with Lupron, in early June. I will probably get my 6 month Lupron shot then. One month later, in late June, the 5 radiation sessions. I am 74 yo in excellent health.
From those with experience, do you think I will be able to do the 10 day, 5 mile (slow) a day, hiking trip? The longest leg of the plane ride is 9 hours. I been planning for a year!
I guess my main concerns are fatigue, hot flashes and urgency in elimination.
I understand that everyone reacts differently, but I want to go on my trip but I also want to be able to enjoy it!
Thanks in advance

In 2022 I had Lupron, then radiation once the injection had done its work. During the 5 or 6 weeks of radiation I would go to the afternoon zap session, then straight to a Wednesday night track workout (hard), with no difficulty beyond the usual. Everyone is different, but the hike you describe should be within your range. Build confidence and ability until then with exercise. Then just go, and enjoy!
@guybe Glad to read that many can continue with exercise

1 ReactionI was 74 and had 42 x EBT and 2 years of ADT Eilgard, last injection November 75. I was fortunate and continued playing squash, running and gym workouts. I did have phases of tiredness but felt exercise really helped. I would mention that sport has always been part of my life. And, I am aware that others are not so fortunate. I would say go for it if you can.
