Does plant-based eating lower chances of MGUS progressing to myeloma?

Posted by amyboylan1 @amyboylan1, Nov 2, 2024

Hi. I was diagnosed with MGUS. I heard that diet, especially a plant based diet can slow the progression of MGUS. Has anyone changed their diet and if so what do you think is helpful? Thanks. I am so scared about this progression I’m willing to make any changes that might be helpful.

I am in your situation and feel the same way. Can anyone give an example of what plant based lunches and dinners would look Like? Thanks so much. I’m really frightened of progression.

Completely plant, except fish added. No processed food.
More resources at Kim at Simply Plant based and Nora Cooks.
Be careful because some plant substitutes are very processed. Lots of bad chemicals.

Here is a link to a great UTube video with Dr Urvi Shaw regarding their Nutrivention trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering. If for some reason the link doesn’t direct you, just go to UTube and look up Nutrivention trial/ Urvi Shaw.
