Hi I'm not really sure what to write. Today after tests I've been told I've a adrenal tumour that's producing too much Adrenaline. That the plan is to operate and remove it . I've been given Doxazosin 4mg to take . I go back in four weeks to see about how and where I'll be operated . I've no idea what to expect ?

My blood work came back that I have pheochromocytoma. My doctor ordered body scan and no tumor is found, but I have all the symptoms. I'm on so much blood pressure medications. I don't know where to turn. My PCP have never treated it.

@cassieannr, hearing that you have a tumor is hard news to bear. I'm tagging fellow members like @jeanern01 @lisanewell68 @vlk420 @dawn_giacabazi @janfam who have been where you are today and can help prepare you for what to expect.

How are you doing? Is Doxazosin helping?

@ladyj5, this must be confusing that test results show different results. How are you doing on the blood pressure medication? Have you considered getting a second opinion?

Yes I will be getting a second opinion. All the medication keeps me tried and sick.

In 1976 at age 19, I was diagnosed with a Pheochromocytoma. I subsequently had surgery at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. What led to my diagnosis was absolutely crazy with a little bit of romance interspersed.
I had recently graduated high school, and a doctor friend of mine talked me into a job at the hospital. One morning on my way to work, I felt a very excruciating headache. With that headache came a super natural command that I should go to the ER and get my blood pressure checked. I went, and in the ER was a student nurse I had a big crush on. I told her I needed by blood pressure checked. She responded that it was too early to be playing, and turned me down.
I knew I had a command to get my BP checked so I begged another nurse to check it for me. That was the moment in time when blood pressure was checked the old school way with a sphyg and the stethoscope. The nurse did my BP four times before she finally decided my BP was 210/192.
Prior to that morning, I never felt sick. I was full of energy playing sports, and I was eating enough food to be 500lbs but never packed on any weight. I only started feeling sick when I was given Inderal. My urine test was positive for VMA. Unfortunately for me laparoscopic surgery wasn't available and so I'm left with a scar from one side of the abdomen to the next. Let God be praised, I'm now 66 years old and is in good health. Best wishes to everyone.

He!lo @ladyj5

I was wondering if you were able to get another opinion? Could post an update when it's convenient? I hope you are doing well.
