Hi I googled with the issue you are asking about and I am sharing the link. Several links and such so I think you probably can find out what you are needing to know. Also may help you to know the questions you need to clarify with you Primary Doctor.
All the best to you. Hugs from Canada

Hi I just had a pet scan it is not scary. Just like another ct scan. They put a saline nuclear solution intravenously into ur arm and wait one hour then have ur scan if nothing else will help with diagnosis of what u have and the sooner the better hope all goes well for you. Just fyi I had to have a lung biopsy after and that was very uncomfortable just waiting for my results. Good luck

I assume that you are concerned about the nodule, not the PET scan, and if it is cancer, I had a 3.2 centimeter nodule on a CT scan and it was squamous cell carcinoma... The good news is what ever you have is in early stage, I had 6 weeks of chemo, once a week and 30 rounds of radiation and started immuno therapy, I just had another pet scan and there is no uptake, so the cancer is in remission..I am on immuno therapy and I also have COPD... good luck and feel free to ask questions.

I had the pet scan and though the nodules didn’t light up one of the nodules was bigger ( it looked like it was disapating)So I’m scheduled for another ct scan I’m praying it comes back smaller this time. The pet scan isn’t to terrible they sit you down and put an IV into your arm and they make you drink a drink that doesn’t taste very good but it’s doable. Then they make you Waite a little while and then they r ray you. All in all it’s not to bad.

They have gotten much better at treating cancer, they put 3 tiny pin prick dots on me and I went every day 5 days a week for 15 minutes for the radiation. It's all laser guided so they only radiate the nodule..I didn't feel any pain or anything from that.. the chemo was low dose..if course you have the fear of your hair falling out, mine didn't until the 5th treatment and then it all didn't fall out, but it was shedding more than usual, when I combed my hair.it just got very thin, I think that is probably the worst part , at least for women.. but it grows back.. I had a friend from high school that had stage 4 colon cancer and his tumor was as big as a baseball... can you imagine? He survived that and currently has no evidence of cancer either.. but his treatment was much worse than mine.. so I just count my blessings..I am praying that you have nothing.. they actually found some new nodules in my other lung, after I finished treatment, and they lite up on the PET scan, but I just had them biopsy and they were infection... not cancer... so it could be nothing you have, which I am hoping for you
