Persistent nausea
I developed long covid after third episode of Covid in 2023. Longest lasting symptoms include shortness of breath , tachycardia and tremor. This past month I have developed persistent nausea with a “sick” feeling and feeling faint. Fatigue seems worse. Anyone with suggestions?

Linda, it sounds like nausea is a new development for you. Have you found anything that helps?
Yes—I am taking Prilosec and that is helping. Thanks for checking in.

I need help I stay nauseous all day long about 5 days a week sometimes more. This has been going on for about 5 yrs now. I have been to my GI doctor and had all the testing for GI related issues but everything has came back normal. I was sent to a neurologist and had all kinds of blood tests and everything was either normal or negative. I have been on zofran odt for 3.5 yrs or more and so it don't really work anymore. I have also been on amitriptyline 25mg and it didn't help. I was prescribed patches you put behind your ear every 3 days but insurance didn't want to pay for them. I have been on promethazine and it is the only medicine that seems to work. My doctors now don't want to write it anymore so I am on my last refill. I am miserable and can not continue to be like this. Please someone help me.
That sounds very distressing. I have no idea what your issue is, but I will say that my mom has longstanding, intermittent nausea for which no cause can be determined. I have always pointed out to her that she gets nauseous when her anxiety flares. When she takes meds for her anxiety, the nausea resolves. I hope you can find some answers and help.
It’s truly a miserable experience to have nausea especially on a constant basis, it sounds like you have been on a number of medications to help you and the one that helped you is being stopped…I expect that you have told your doctor not to discontinue your medication. Is there a reason why you’re being cut off because you don’t mention it, if there is then perhaps you can get something else that’s similar. I have a constant problem with nausea but I’ve noticed that it happens when I’m stressed out so most times I take Ativan to help me and it works but sometimes I take Gravol to help me instead of Ativan. I hope that you can get the help you need to feel better, best wishes.
The reason they are stopping the medicine is long term use messes with the QT waves of your heart.
It’s very unfortunate that this is happening but definitely not uncommon, I’m on a medication for anxiety and depression but it causes rapid heart rate, I got it from covid so that’s now an issue and I’ve tried so many other meds that didn’t work. It’s true what they say, you find a medication that works and then it causes other problems,
Sounds like an acid stomach condition. Do you have "heartburn" as well? Mention this possibility to your doctor. Maybe something like Prilosec might help.
