Pep Buddy
Does anyone else use other devices just to help the lungs or breathing?
I have a whistle, bubbles, harmonica and balloons.
First time I tried to blow up balloon I couldn't do it.
I tried a couple weeks ago and surprised myself. It was easy.
Couple days ago couldn't do it.
My grandkids gave me the bubbles and harmonica.
I've been seeing an advertisement pop up on my phone about a Pep Buddy.
Anyone heard of this?

Sounds like you're having some fun whilst keeping your lungs clear! PepBuddy does not appear to provide oscillation like with Aerobika or Acapella.
I know it is basically to slow down breathing when having anxiety.
I also have this cute little gadget made for children Webe Kalm.
Teaches children controlled breathing when they are having a melt down.
I think the pep buddy might be the same idea
I also whistle when driving.
I remember watching a video NJH and Dr. Daly said there are all kinds of things at Toys R US.
I suppose to blow into or at least try.
A kazoo might be a fun add-on. Or those birthday party favors that unroll when you blow into them.
My speech therapist has me blowing through various sizes of straws - some in water, some not. And humming songs through one like a kazoo!
Can you sterilize the harmonica?
Yes.
Take apart.
My grandkids gave me a toy one. That one I just wiped down with alcohol.
The expensive one they gave me last year I take apart and wipe down and let air dry
May I ask why you needed speech therapist?
Did you have a problem swallowing.
I have straws just for blowing bubbles in water.
I've been looking for a kazoo like wolfplanetzero mentioned.
I think I'll go into the party aisle next time at Target.
I have vocal chord dysfunction that causes choking at on food and water, as well as a voice that has become more hoarse & weak. I have an appointment for the ENT to scope it and take a closer look. I also suffer from dry mouth.
The exercises for choking helped pretty quickly, and I'm fine as long as I remember to do them at least 3 times a week. The vocal exercises are going much more slowly, or maybe I just expected the same rapid response.
