Penis size has been reduced, erections are difficult to obtain

Posted by benjaminje @benjaminje, 3 days ago

I had greenlight ablation surgery for my small prostate. My symptoms were the same as BPH. Since my procedure the size of my flaccid penis size has been reduced and it is difficult to obtain and maintain an erection. I have been able to masturbate my only semi erect penis to what feels similar to an orgasm but without any ejaculate, no semen. I am 53 years old, type one diabetic. I am wondering if this is related to my surgery.

Hi @benjaminje I probably cant answer if the 2 are tied together but I can say you're not alone. I'm a heart transplant patient and due to other factors haven't had regular intercourse since my transplant almost 8 years ago. But like you i can achieve a type of good feeling during stimulations. Kind of like masturbating but not like when i had a regular eviction. But feels like it.

Now as for semen, that I did ask my doctor about and not having an fluid as we get older is quite normal. Now Im much older at 66 but its probably been 10 plus years since any semen was noticed. So I dont know if prostate surgery had anything to do with it but I look forward to hearing from others who might have more to add.

I have had two “green-light” procedures some years ago, and can attest that the lack of sperm/semen (ejaculate) is normal after the procedure. From what I understand, the procedure destroys (maybe a better word to use) one of the two sphincter muscles that men have, and allows backflow into the bladder of the ejaculate.
As well as this issue, I also experienced ED after the second procedure (done only two months after the first by the same guy, the first one apparently failed). He did tell me he was much more aggressive the second time and warned me of a possibility of ED- he was correct.

There is no reason in today's modern world to live with ED ..there are so many options available and many paid for by insurance ..
