@naturegirl5 Thank you so much for this post. I too have pain in my pelvis and back with this diagnosis of Endometrial Adenocarcinoma, Endometrioid type (FIGO stage 1) and immediately thought the test results said I was stage 1. It did not. I also have bladder pressure, urgency and frequent urination symptoms. My Dr. explained the staging would come after surgery was performed. I really wanted to understand the FIGO stage 1 reference as well as the the actual staging when it came to me. I will be looking up those sites. Thank you for your help. 😊
@kkathysan Actually if you are talking with a medical professional then use this term: FIGO Grade 1. So if this is correct your diagnosis is Endometrial adenocarcinoma FIGO Grade 1.
That's the same as me prior to my surgery. Staging as your doctor said is different and refers to the testing that is done on the tissue removed during surgery.

First of all your doctors can and should explain this to you until
you feel you understand clearly. But They may have said you have “FICO Grade 1” which means a slow growing type of cancer. This can can tell before the surgery.
As I wrote below I had similar type pain and was fearful that meant I had a later stage endometrial cancer. Most doctors said they thought the pain was most likely unrelated to my cancer. I just had a complete robotic hysterectomy
2 weeks ago. Luckily for me it was stage 1 A 🙏. I continued to have very similar pain after the surgery until about a week ago. It is now almost gone and my surgeon believes I just had very sensitive nerves near my uterus. Now they are healing. Everyone is so different !! I hope this helps.
@sor1959 I just noticed the date of your post, which means you have completed your surgery. How are you doing? I will be praying for your complete recovery. Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. Endometrial Adenocarcinoma, FIGO grade 1, with bleeding post menopausal, pelvic and lower back pain similar to menstrual pain when I was younger. As well as bladder pressure, urgency, and frequency which actually started the whole process months ago with blood in my urine. This progressed to the bleeding and the pelvic pain has been here for months and is getting worse. This led me to a GYN and a biopsy and diagnosis. I haven’t met with my oncologist yet so I don’t know when I will have surgery, but I know I am headed for a hysterectomy in my near future.
I am praying for your recovery, thank you for sharing your story. God Bless! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are so sweet to be thinking of me!

So all to say - I had a very successful surgery with no need for further treatment with a diagnosis of stage 1 A🙏🙏🎉
And I had terrible pain that continued to worsen until the surgery. It came back for a short time after the surgery but then subsided even though 90% of doctors thought it was not related to my cancer. Obviously it was and I was very early stage.
I pray for you to get the same diagnosis and relief from your pain.
The surgery was easy by the way! First week u need to really rest but everyday after that was easier and i only ever took Advil.
Sending Hugs and blessings your way. ❤️

@sor1959 Thank you for sharing your journey through surgery. I'm pleased to know that you were staged 1A and that the pain you felt that you worried you so is 90% gone.
Did your surgeon/oncologist suggest any further treatment? How often will you return for your periodic check-ups?

Praise God, I love your report! I’m so glad to hear the stage was 1a and you need no further treatment. That is such a blessing. That is of course my hope as well. Thank you so much for sharing about your recovery. The oncologist I will be going to is trained in the DaVinci Robotics surgery also, so that may be what I have. It’s nice to know the recovery is not months long. So thankful your pain has subsided now. I’m a whimp when it comes to pain and thankful that even though I have pain OTC pain meds gets rid of it! Yay! You take good care of yourself, and God Bless! 🙏🏻

Thank you! I just get very nervous as the pain is worsening each day. Called my gyn/oncologist and waiting.
Yes it is FIGO grade 1.
Very anxious to have the surgery and diagnosis.
Thx again🙏
Thank you for reaching out to the forum for support. I understand what you're going through. My initial diagnosis was stage low, but after surgery, it progressed to stage IV. The pain was excruciating, like a dagger piercing my pelvic area.
In hindsight, I should have managed my pain better. I was afraid to take medication, so I endured the discomfort. However, I found some relief using a hot water bottle.
My advice to you:
- Apply a hot water bottle to alleviate pain or take ibuprofen with your doctor's approval
- Avoid sugary foods and carbohydrates
- Drink tea made from leaves (like sour sop leaves tea, dandelion or caffeine-free peppermint)
Check in with the forum regularly for ongoing support.
