Pelvic Pain - Calf Twitch/Leg Pain - Dilated Seminal Vesicles
Hi All. 43 year old male. I've been dealing with pelvic pain for a number of months which I believe is due to hypertonic pelvic floor muscles. I just started physical therapy with a pelvic floor PT. As much as the pelvic pain affects me the affects to my legs and nervous system makes things much worse. My calves started twitching non-stop and I get pain/heaviness in both legs mainly down the back of my legs (hamstrings/calves). I've had a CT and MRI both with contrast, EMG, back X-Ray, and rectal ultrasound with the urologist finding that my seminal vesicles were dilated but prostate was good. All other tests came back normal. The MRI focused on the pelvic area and was also normal. I've had blood, urine, thyroid, lyme disease all checked coming back normal. I'm hopefully going to do a semen culture with infectious disease but urologist had already put me on antibiotics months ago with no resolution. Symptoms started in July 2025 and now were in November and I'm taking things one day at a time. The pelvic pain early on gave my body an anxiety response which I've been able to better manage over time without medication. I did take gabapentin for a few weeks but felt like my body was cramping and causing muscle soreness so I stopped. I'm going to keep with the PT stretching and treatment ongoing but wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with similar nervous system/leg effects? I feel like my body is under constant stress and my hands will get jittery off an on as well. I sleep at least 7-8 hours a night and just don't feel like I'm getting restful sleep. Please share any insight you may have on your experiences or other treatments I need to explore.
