PASH with invasive ductal carcinoma

Posted by annac3 @annac3, Jan 4, 2020

Recently diagnosed with grade 1 ER/PR+ HER2-, IVD in right breast. Second biopsy in same side of breast revealed benign condition called PASH. After reading about it, it makes sense why a post-menopausal woman of 55 has enlarging painful breasts, almost like PMS used to be. I’m currently planning oncoplasty breast reduction. Plastic surgeon says she’ll make marks when breast surgeon does lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy, so he goes within her parameters if possible. Then after pathology we’ll confirm reduction is still best route, or if we need to plan double mastectomy. Anyone experienced with PASH?

I'm reading more about pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) here: https://www.healthline.com/health/pash
That sounds very uncomfortable @annac3. We're you planning breast reduction before getting the PASH diagnosis or is that part of treatment?

Breast surgeon and I initially discussed lumpectomy since I have smaller malignancy. Then plastic surgeon suggested oncoplastic reduction based on exam and review of the case as a whole. I also have pre-existing lymphedema in right arm, and she’s going to do a lymphovenous bypass with the reduction surgery.
