My tumor is In the head. They were ready to do surgery and my CA19-9 was high. Also they saw some spots on the liver. They did biopsies but they were benign. Biopsies were done later and they turned out malignant. What a gut punch.

My husband had a tumor removed from his pancreas (as well as the head of his pancreas, gall bladder, etc) a couple of months ago using the Whipple procedure. The tumor was caught early because it had pinched the bile duct leading from his liver. He is undergoing chemo now.

So glad they followed with another biopsy. Let us know your treatment regimen but whatever it is, we support you to get through this. Indeed, it is gut kick, but you are strong and ready to fight. I continue even though the lesions in liver are larger. New chemo regimen, Gem/nab-paclitaxel. tougher on me for first round, but it always gets better day by day and I have time with my family and friends.

The G/A chemo didn’t work. I will be doing a clinical trial starting March 23. We will continue to pray and fight.

That’s exactly how they caught mine. I was staged at stage 1B. I had chemo & radiation in order for the tumor to shrink and become inactive.

Did they do any genetic typing of your tumor? That helps on treatment options. So glad they have a trial for you to try. There may be side effects, but find ways to handle them. They science is finally moving some for Pan Can, so take advantage of the trials when offered. Do you know what the drugs are? Wishing you well and keep us informed. We are to support you.

Yes, because of a BRCA mutation I am able to have this clinical trial. I can also go on sotorasib for a KRAS mutation.

My husband hasn’t been told to lose weight. He is at least 50 pounds overweight. From what I have been reading, he could drop that much weight after the surgery. How overweight is your brother?
