Exploring options for inoperable pancreatic cancer
I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 9/12/2016. drs said it's inoperable. I've been getting chemo every 2 weeks and routine abt cat scans have shown tumor is stable and not spreading to other organs; however the cat scan done 2 weeks ago shows "mild progression of tumor. dr says we need to make decision concerning other measures like radiation or pills that have been researched and tried. Do they do a combination of chemo and radiation? Would like to discuss options with others who have pancreatic cancer.

@margaretrivers How are you doing? How are the radiation treatments going?
Sorry for the delay... living life while I feel good 🙂
I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Last July I was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. I was told I had less than a year to live. Today I'm living tumor free. I had a two inch tumor in the head of the pancreas and a dozen and a half in the liver.
I have been receiving Folfirinox/Folfiri since August. This past March I became eligible for radiosurgery and received five rounds in April.
Yes, the numbers are grim, but my oncologist said there are multiple treatments we can try if the cancer begins to progress.
I had symptoms when I was diagnosed, and it sounds like we have different types of cancer so I don't know when you'll experience the symptoms. However, be super grateful that you don't and go out there and live life now.
Try not to let the cancer thoughts consume your good days. I know... easier said than done.
Hang in there!
