Venting is definitely OK @cheryl69. Wished I had some magic answers for you as I can't imagine how difficult it is for you. I have neuropathy, degenerative arthritis and a few other conditions but fortunately only have the numbness with the neuropathy and my arthritis is just some pain I've gotten used that I've learned to live with. Sounds like you have already tried a lot of different things. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a pretty comprehensive list of treatments including complementary and alternative treatments that you might find helpful to see if there is something you haven't tried - https://www.foundationforpn.org/therapies/.

Yes, pain is something others can’t really understand. Have any meds helped at all? I was put on Tramadol, diclofenac K, and a muscle relaxer after I injured my back. They helped a lot. A year later I had a spinal cord stimulator implanted which helped mitigate my pain to the point where I was almost back to normal.
Of course, nothing lasts forever. Currently I am on a pain pump trying to get the dosage adjusted to therapeutic level.
I’m not sure if any of these are an option for you, but they are worth checking out. Whatever the case, I wish you well.

I have been using the Buprenorphine patch. It is 15mg. You change it every week. If it for chronic pain sufferers and others. I have been using it since February. Combined with various vitamins, it has been amazing for me. I have been on every pain medication known to man. As a veteran, the amounts were ridiculous from the VA. I was fed up. Going cold turkey in the winter, it was a nightmare. Thank goodness I am getting better now. Hope this helps.

Go see a pain specialist. Norco helps me most of the time. I have Fibromyalgia, osteo Arthritis, and rheumatoid Arthritis, copd (emphazema), bad back and legs hurt all the time. have Neuropathy on both feet and hands. Not too bad on hands yet. Thank God and hope and pray they don't get worse. I am 79 years old and Doctor says I cannot have any surgery because my breathing is so bad I might not wake up. I am up a creek without a paddle. LOL Might as well laugh about it. God helps a lot. I feel for everyone on here. God Bless yall and I pray they find a cure for Neuropathy soon.

My doctor refuses to prescribe certain pain meds and now also reduced the one I was on. I now can’t walk due to pain and can’t stand either. I’m so tired of this. I wish there was an answer for neuropathy. Norco always helped but she won’t give that one either. I also believe God helps me just to deal with it. Best of luck to you.

so sorry. You need to get your doctor to refer you to a pain clinic or Pain management Dr. If they won't get another doctor. Best of luck. These people that are not in pain, don't understand how bad it is to be in pain constantly. They just think we want drugs because we are drug head. But, I would not even wish my pain on them.
I am too tender hearted. Bless you

In reply to Cheryl. I too suffer fibromyalgia, arthritis, neuropathy lung cancer heart problems etc etc. I feel your pain and wish I could help you with it, sleepless nights makes it so hard to face the day so after every 3 sleepless nights I take a valium and it doesn't take the pain away but at least I usually get some sleep which helps me face the pain the following day. I hope you find you "aid" to cope. Good luck, Gloria

Ketamine therapy has taken all my fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy pain away!
I developed fibromyalgia after I gave birth when I was 31, I’m 66 now. I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy when I was in my late 50’s. It may have been that all along.
I have been on opioid meds since 2009.
I also have treatment resistant depression that I developed after I gave birth to my first son in 1988. I guess I shouldn’t have had kids!!
Anyway, while I was in NY, I went to a Ketamine clinic for my depression. I went in every week for 6 weeks for an IV of ketamine. I was shocked and so pleasantly surprised that after my second IV, ALL of my pain left me!! All of it!!
It didn’t do a thing for my depression. But the pain was gone.
Unfortunately in 2024, most insurances, including Medicare, stopped paying for the infusions and the pain returned. Now I see a naturopath who prescribes oral, sublingual ketamine lozenges called “troches” that I use every other day.
They don’t work as well as the infusions but I do feel better.

Have you tried Nortryptline? I was taking Minimum dose Pregabalin and it didn’t help pain much. When I added minimum dose of Nortryptline at bed time it made a big difference. That’s something you can check with your PCP.
