PAD Femoral Bypass Surgery

Do you mind sharing a bit more about your situation? Do you have PAD and are you considering surgery?

Good morning Janelle,
Yes, I do have PAD and I am considering bypass surgery. I have previously had the femoral blockage successfully opened only to have the blockage reoccur. I then had a second procedure to attempt removing the blockage however my surgeon was unable open the artery on the second attempt. She has suggested a possible bypass procedure.

I’ve had 2 bypass surgery and facing another one
I have felt so alone for 2 years my family is wonderful but no we of them have had this surgery I’m very happy I found this site

@eckhartk Hello, I am wondering if you had 2 femoral bypass surgeries and if so , were they endoscopic or open procedures? Did the first one fail due to the femoral artery being blocked again? Also, thank you for your input and feedback and I hope you are doing well.

Sorry been under the weather but open procedures over 9 hrs each one. It failed because of blood clots invading it the second surgery they used cadaver parts and it’s been over 2 years all is good, I am doing better thanks for asking
