Orgovyx and the timeline for return of normal testosterone level

Posted by rmp321 @rmp321, Dec 19, 2023

I’ve been taking Orgovyx since 11.09.23. How long does it take for Testosterone levels to return to normal once I stop taking this drug? What side effects have you experienced with this drug?

rmp321,
I found this on the orgovyx site. "Cumulative probability of testosterone recovery to 280 ng/dL at the 90-day follow-up in 184 patients who completed 48 weeks of treatment and who did not receive subsequent androgen deprivation therapy for at least 90 days after discontinuation."
I've been looking for a chart. And wonder if a person can take testosterone injections to speed the process. Or cover the interval or if it would be contra indicated with the prostate cancer history.
So it is the second to the last chart on this site. https://www.orgovyxhcp.com/efficacy/ Not exactly what I wanted to read.

I started orgovyx on 9/2/23 and am on a six month regime. I can only speak to the side effects portion of your query.
These have included fatigue, primarily in my legs, a loss of stamina and muscle definition, dizziness and some muscle cramps. Testicles are much smaller. Oh, and hot flashes, of course.
I am able to keep up with my fitness routines (swimming and tennis and walking) but have little oomph left over by the end of the day. Still, I am 72 and hard to separate ageing from these side effects.
Consider all of this very manageable.

I took orgovyx for 18 months, am off it 5 weeks. I just had testosterone tested, it is 505. I had some fatigue, some pain in knees and hands. I did lose some muscle mass. Libido lessned but did not disappear. I followed a diet program and an exercise program. 5 weeks off and I have increased libido and night time erections back. I was G10, state 3C 18 months of orgovyx and 45 radiation.

I don't take this particular med but I don't understand the wanting to get the testosterone level back up. I was told it feeds the cancer. My level is listed at < 3 and hopefully it will stay there. I'm 69 so it's okay by me. When Oncologist said treatment could lower the testosterone level, both me and my wife just laughed. Yes I have the turtle in the shell effect but as long as I can find before wetting my shorts, is good to go. Sorry if I'm missing the point, sometimes it takes me a while to get there. Best to all

Testosterone has many functions besides taking care of libido, Maintaing and building muscle and bone mass, and red blood cell levels. I can already feel the difference with stair climbing, strength, and fatigue. Besides regaining healthy libido, the extra energy and less bone pain has been noticible.

My oncologist said to me to stop the LUPRON/ Trelstar injections after a year and watch PSA levels. Maybe the cancer could go back into remission again if PSA stays low. That’s my interpretation of what he told me. I ll know more in a week when I see my med. oncologist again.

I hope that I have the same testosterone (T) recovery results that you have experienced. Been off of Orgovyx for just over two weeks as I started my drug holiday after having a nought-T life for the past two years.

I stopped a 6 month course in Jan of this year. First labs last week, T back to normal levels. PSA was undetectable following SBRT Tx last year. Good luck!
