Orgasms after Aquablation
I had an aquablation procedure two weeks ago. I have had some urine flow issues but my doc says that all went well and I am recovering properly. There was one topic on which he was entirely unclear, however, and the internet thus far has failed to provide useful information. Similarly, my email to the aquablation developer has gone unanswered.
This seems like information that should be available readily but it is not, so I will ask here: how soon after aquablation is it safe to have an orgasm? I already am having erections, so I would like to know what I can do with them.
I previously had a laser prostate procedure. At its conclusion, the urologist was quite clear: no orgasms for 45-60 days or risk damaging my internal organs. I haven't had similar warnings this time, so I wonder if the risks are the same or less significant with the more modern procedure.
I appreciate any information you can provide.

Surgery was a failure for me. Caused bladder control issues with a small improvement taking Gemtesa. Retro ejaculation is the worst part and has ruined my sex life with my wife. I am six months out now. Would i recommend. Not no but hell no !!!!

1 ReactionMan, don't tell me that....do you at least have a sensation when you have a orgasm?
I agree with everything you said.
Worst part now is the recurring UTIs.
Among other things.
They say we gave “Informed Consent” but they didn’t give us all the facts?
First do no harm?

1 ReactionMy "procedure” was Urolift but similar problems. Don’t lose interest don’t make excuses. Make your wife as happy as you can regularly. There’s great pleasure in that. Happy wife, happy life. The human body often rebuilds itself puzzling the Drs. Keep that in mind. I do.
Note:
A study Many years ago quoted in Boardroom Reports said most men who die during sex are trying to achieve a result beyond their capability. Be careful Joseph. 😁 There may be a surprise in our future.
I had the aquablation procedure in mid-August. I spent the night in the hospital and was released the next day with a catheter. I had the catheter for three days and returned to the hospital to have it removed on day four after the procedure. I had a slight stinging sensation when urinating the first few days, but that soon subsided. I had a forceful urine stream. I was advised to drink lots of water so I was drinking at least 12 oz every hour. My urine did have blood usually just at the beginning of the stream. Urine color was a light cranberry color. By day six after the procedure I felt great, so I became more active and walked 13,000 steps that day. Then the blood in the urine intensified and I saw a few blood clots 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch in diameter. Urine color became a dark red and thicker, but never got to the ketchup thickness that I was warned about. I increased my intake in of water and rested. I walked very little (3,000 steps per day). My urine remained dark red for a few days, but gradually lightened. At day 21 after the procedure my urine was clear and has stayed clear. I have had a few involuntary erections, but have not attempted to have any form of sex. My written hospital release instructions said to abstain from sex for four weeks, so I have two more days to go. I have gone into all of this detail to make the point that there may be ups and downs during recovery. I was really worried when blood in the urine had increased, but after a week or two of worry my urine has cleared up and I feel great. I have much more control than I did before the procedure.
What is your age? I'm 81 and would give a lot to have a few involuntary (or voluntary) erections.

1 ReactionI am 65.
I had my aquablation on April Fools Day (really). It has resolved 99% of my previous woes with two exceptions.
1) I now have RE, which was never a thing before the surgery. As was so eloquently stated previously in this thread....air biscuits*. Some asked about sensation. Yep, still 90% there, but oddly enough the buildup is probably 125% of what it used to be...significantly better traveling to the destination with a slight disappoint upon arrival.
2) For a day or two following orgasm some of my "old symptoms" resurface (frequency, urgency, achiness), but these are only temporary.
*the caveat to #1 above is that now 5+ months later, there is a trend away form "air" to more "biscuits". I've read elsewhere on this site that for some their RE was completed gone after a year. I'm fine with where ever I land on that spectrum as my day to day life is greatly improved thanks to this procedure by a skilled surgeon.
Also the original thread asked about "how long to wait after surgery". I made it to the 5 week mark and surgery recommend 6 weeks.

1 ReactionTo the OP:
My urologist told me to avoid sexual intercourse and orgasms for 4 weeks after the procedure. The first 2 weeks didn’t matter as I was still having recovery discomfort, blood in urine, etc. I wished I could have sex during the second 2 weeks of the 4 weeks, but abstained. Cold showers.
But you need to take your own urologist’s advice, this is just my experience.
