I am on high alert, as per my transplant coordinator, to expect "the call " within 1 _2 weeks. I would like to hear from folks who have had liver transplant at mayo jacksonville in past 2 years. I need some information refreshing on the exact moves that happen once I check in. Like registration, testing, going to "pre flight "area, prep for the surgery. Things like that. Ty for any and all feedback.

Hi,
I transplanted at Mayo Jax in 2015.
Registration was short.
I went in around 10 am.
They did 2 or 3 enemas.
They would not give me anything to calm my nerves. I found it to be very difficult to manage my anxiety without medication, but I understand why they won’t give you any. I went into surgery around 2am.
That’s about all I recall. I will say Mayo is one of the best run hospitals I’ve ever been in. And if you are lucky enough to have Amy as your post-op nurse coordinator, you will be thrilled. She is an awesome nurse and person.

I was turned down for transplant of liver due to contraindications regarding the health of myself and inability to get the better. Ty
