One-sided throat pain when swallowing after eating toast – possible in

Posted by cemsid @cemsid, 6 days ago

Hello,

I have been experiencing pain in my throat for about a week. The pain is mostly on one side and gets much worse when I eat, especially solid or rough foods.

Interestingly, when I swallow normally there is no pain, but when I turn my head to the side and swallow, I feel pain in a specific spot.

This started after I ate toasted bread while I had consumed alcohol, so I am wondering if it could be a small injury or irritation.

I do not have fever or other major symptoms.

Could this be just a minor throat injury or something like an ulcer (aphthous)? Or should I be concerned about something more serious?

Thank you.

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing throat pain! I have throat pain once in a while and I use Listerine mouthwash the original flavor. (The new flavored ones aren't effective.) I merely gargle with it or hold it in my mouth. You can feel it working and it takes the pain away. However, if your throat pain continues you probably should see a doctor.
I wish you the best.

My throat was hurting on the right side for 5 days, was afraid I injured it during a coughing jag when I choked on liquid Tylenol.
This morning it was gone.
It was a sore throat I think now.
Most grateful and going to treat eating carefully which I have been.
Could it be a sore throat?
