Oncology appointments to review results

Why are Oncologists always downers at appointments - even when results are good? Had my 3 month appointment and yearly bone scan. Metastatic stage 4 prostate cancer stable and improved, PSA < 0.100, Alkaline Phosphate at 40, and blood all normal. Should be happy - but I always leave feeling less hopeful. I feel like Oncologists are protecting themselves and the institution by not getting excited about good results. Just saying.

You mentioned CRANIUM- that’s what a friend of ours had, so he had that removed surgically and now he s taking Erleada- a more powerful drug than Zuniga- his PSA has been about .004 for a long time. He’s always fatigued he tells me. I too need my naps in the afternoon. PS. It’s been 3 yrs. Since I rang the BELL, after my RT treatments. I ve been blessed.

Got an oncology appt coming up. Many questions for him. Like why does Taxotere kill cancer around/in prostate but not handle cancer in bones, like cranium. Too many bone hot spots for radiation, but doesnt Taxotere attack bone cancer? Well, will be finding out. My 3d cycle is coming up shortly. Not sure I would want surgery for cranium hot spots. But been in good hands with the oncology doc. Good to bounce ideas off you. Regards, Dennis

I have a great oncologist and he is like yours. I mean he seems happy but I guess I expect more. He just says I like where we're at. I'm not being critical because he has gone above and beyond in helping me. I guess I get excited by myself along with my wife haha
