On my way To Rochester MN
I would be lying if I said I’m not nervous. I have my first appointment tomorrow morning , hematology evaluation. No itinerary, it’s the not knowing whats going to happen, how long I’ll be here, and will I finally have answers. I say I’m ready for answers, but now that it’s here….. not sure I’m ready 😓

I can feel your excitement, @kasey78!
You mention no itinerary. Did they tell you you’d have one appointment then see what happens from there? Do you have portal access set up to veiw your appointment schedule?

Yes I have the patient portal. They said during consultation/evaluation they would decide testing etc and appointments would be added then.

Apparently then they don't have an action plan based on any medical info submitted on your behalf.

My experience has been Mayo looks at everything submitted then they form a plan to do testing they feel is needed to move in the right direction. Don’t be surprised if you have tests done that you have already had at home. I have had tests I thought were simply repeats but once I saw the information coming from them I realized just how much more information Mayo’s testing can provider. Sometimes, it may just be the timing of things they’ll want to see.
Regardless, you’ve done your part by being there. You need to simply show up and let them go through the steps they feel are important. You’ve got it!
I am interested to hear how things are going. Will you come back at update, @kasey78?

My course of action was already determined before I got there. Surgey was/is the standard treatment for my condition.
