Not healed after months

Over last few months I have had several abrasions that after several months have not healed 100,,,% and have left rough skin or a visible scar

Have you gone to a Dermatologist for these abrasions? My skin scars easily and has thinned so much as I
have gotten older.

I use a prescription ointment called Mupirocin prescribed by a Dermatologist and it heals any abrasions that I may have. It works quickly for me. It is better than Neosporin or Polysporin andI do not have any scars from it.

After the abrasion has healed, are you keeping it moisturized with something like Aquaphor?

These are just some thoughts for you. Prayers & Blessings to you....

You do not mention how old you are. When you get older (I am 78) you are going to get a lot more brusies, scrapes, etc. that will not heal as fast as when you are younger. Your skin is much thinner, lack of collagen and does not have the elastic nature it once had.

The collagen gets really thin in your skin with age. My dermatologist advised me my bruises are from that lack of collagen and thin skin. Stating I am going to get a lot more bruises and injuries that are not going to heal as fast or the same as when I was younger.

Last year doing a spring triathlon I slid off a dock only to have the back of both legs get cut by barnacles. It took weeks to heal. Scars so prominent other can see them even today. And the skin even a year later hard to the touch and abbrasive feeling.

Asked your dermatologist (and if not seeing on please do) about OTC creams and prescribtions that can really help with healing and prevention of scars. I know this sound crazy but after very biopsy after any bleeding stops to use vasoloine. Why? It seals in moisture where the would is and makes it heal from inside out and not form a scap.

Again don't do that without your dermatologist or PCP saying to do as may not be appropriate to your injury.
