Non-Allergenic Hair Care
I just wanted to report in that I have found a new shampoo & conditioner that suits my curly hair. It is called Exederm and I bought it on-line from the manufacturer. My complaint with Vanicream's shampoo & conditioner was that it was too drying and caused my hair to feel like straw and break. The Exederm has some "slip" in both products and I can rake the conditioner through while still in the shower and detangle my curls. I've had it about three weeks and it has not caused any sensitivity issues. I am still using the Vanicream styling gel as there seems to be no alternative, as yet. Every other Vanicream product works for me just fine, except the shampoo and conditioner. I have atopic dermatitis with sensitivities to many botanicals which seem to be in most everything these days. Hope this helps somebody facing the same challenges.
Thank you, @sandrajune. I am sure this information will be very useful for people who are highly allergic to multiple things. I know that Amazon sells this shampoo and conditioner too.
Thanks for this information and recommendation, @sandrajune. I've used Vanicream skin moisturizer and found it to be better than most products of that type. However, I did not know that they made hair care products. I'm certainly going to try the styling gel and I see that they have a hair spray. Have you tried the hair spray?
I can't comment on the hair spray. I usually read the comments. In this case, at the manufacturers web and on Amazon.
@sandrajune, Thank you for the post about Vanicream products. I have been using most of them since they were strongly referred by my dermatologist. So I am an advocate. I do use the shampoo as well as the other face wash, face cream, lotions. I am on my way to some more testing for atopic dermatitis. How did you learn about your botanical sensitivities? My stylist likes the shampoo for my hair. Says it makes it manageable. I don't use styling products…just the wash and go.
How long have you had atopic dermatitis? Do you use tacrolimus? What else are you sensitive to……….how about marijuana? I was shocked to learn how you can become addicted to steroid skin products.
Anxious to hear from you.
Be content and live with ease.
Chris
Where can I find Vanicream products? Have never seen them in any store here in Toronto, but I will keep a lookout, now that I know what it is.
Have you looked on Amazon?

This is the manufacturer's store on Amazon for all their Vanicream products.
Most baby care products are also available in fragrance-free, sensitive formulas.
