No help from family
Hi! I’m new and am thinking that you’ve probably talked about this, but here goes. I live with my brother, who acts like he knows about fibro- but thinks I am acting. He just stares at me with these vacant eyes when I try to talk about it (which isn’t often). There is so much excellent info from fellow bloggers but he won’t read it! How do I deal with living with someone who is supposed to care about me, yet cares nothing about what I am going through? I’m 61, but this “thing” has me in its grip? Stress has been unreal lately, yet I don’t know how to make it go away! ........Karen

@karen00 See if you can find some sort of a support group in your area. While it is good to be here on Mayo Connect, having a face-to-face group is oftentimes a very positive move. Keep in touch.

@gingerw Hi Ginger, is there some rule about putting the @ and the last numbers or initials? I’ve never understood it! I just do what I’ve seen others do.
@karen00 When you do this, and you have clicked on the "reply" box within a specific post, it notifies that person who created the post, that you have mentioned them in another post. Clicking on "reply" not associated with a specific post, you can still do that but there is no header created, or you can create a new post. Hope this helps,
Ginger
@gingerw Great. My depression really takes hold if I don't get out even just to run errands. Cant leave husb alone. Having aphasia non-stroke related its pretty quiet around here. And lonely. Trying to no avail to get in home help. We have a shortage of them. I only need a couple hrs at a time so that's also a hindrance.
Thanks Ginger!
