Newly diagnosed with PD, born with Sturge-Weber-Syndrome anyone else?

Posted by cstewart2025 @cstewart2025, 1 day ago

My brother is 73 and was born with Sturge Weber Syndrome (SWS), which is a somewhat rare neurological disorder. In December of 2024 he was diagnosed with PD. Are there other humans out there with the same disorders? Just trying to get help on how to move forward and what I can do to ensure I've provided him with the best care during these trying times. Thanks, Michele

Hi, @cstewart, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Your brother is fortunate to have you walk alongside him with Sturge-Weber syndrome and now with Parkinson's disease.

If you are interested, here is some helpful information on Sturge-Weber syndrome, which is fairly rare:

What treatments has your brother had for Sturge-Weber? Have they been helpful to him?
