New YALE research study - LISTEN

Posted by cynthia14 @cynthia14, Sep 24, 2022

If anyone is interested, Yale University is teaming up with Hugo Health for a new fully-funded IRB research project to determine the root cause of long COVID. They are now enrolling post-COVID sufferers in LISTEN, which is the name of the study and is a patient care concept that resonates with all of us, I know. The research study focuses on the immunology and pathology of the virus that results in our myriad long term symptoms. Their goal is to collect data from over 1,000 patients for study that will hopefully lead to effective treatment. I signed up and just wanted to share the opportunity.

How do I sign up floor the Yale study and get more information? I don’t see a lingo to sign up or a contact person. Thanks!

I might like to be part of the Yale study regarding long covid symptoms
following a booster injection. I had symptoms for 3 months that ended after
that time.

I’m part of Yale’s study. I connect them with my Covid medical records, answer surveys, and combine thousands of people for their research. They have town hall meetings that are prerecorded and the researchers, clinical practitioners, and patients share the lastest research results in an easy-to-understand scientific matter.

It’s helped me learn and ask better questions to my army of doctors.

Hi Eric, thanks for posting about the YALE Listen Study. @cynthia14 is taking part and encouraging others to take part as well. This sounds like a well conducted study with important educational and feedback opportunities.

How long have you been part of the study? Can people join any time?

REPLY

Hello- I think I joined around 3 months ago. I was deep brain fog and don’t recall. They have a webinar Thursday at 8am est. lots of expertise and compassion.

I just try to spread the word. I’m back in a bad brain fog state. Don’t remember posting this. I’m open with my condition with certain people at work. They usually know someone close with long Covid symptoms and they don’t know what’s going on. I usually suggest they come here and have a look at my two programs here in Chicago at Northwestern and University of Chicago.

I’m grateful for here and my other resources. It’s such a disease of unknowns.

I checked with the Kindred coordinator today and she said that the Yale Study is still accepting new post- COVID participants - she advised to make sure you sign up for Kindred and then the Kindred Research Study Listen: https://medicine.yale.edu/ycci/listen-study/
As noted in other posts here, it is a wonderful effort and a growing resource.
