New to hemmoroids

Posted by spade976 @spade976, Sep 5 9:53am

I just developed an internal hemmoroid. It clearly came from constipation and straining with me. From my research it seems like it’s still grade 1. Nothing is protruding, there is no blood. It does feel like the Last Of Us Fungi is trying to escape my ass though. My question is can this actually get worse from here? Do people usually drop in grade? Does internal ever naturally heal itself or am I looking at bands? I have all the research about fiber and getting off the toilet as fast as possible and all the meds. Any tips, experience or suggestions would be great. I know controlling stress is also probably paramount but this is really making my job life unbearable. Thx.

I have been told by several GIs after colonoscopies that I have internal hemorrhoids. I have had them for years. I guess they have caused discomfort but I guess I have gotten used to it. I would go to the doctor. Sounds like it is effecting your life. Get the information from the doctor, then you can make a decision.

I’m truly relating to your problems with internal hemorrhoids because lately I’m going crazy from the burning sensation almost nonstop. These nasty things came about after pregnancy and also years of constipation, I was sent to a clinic that used a scope and told me I had four, the doctor decided to remove one and I wouldn’t go through that again, I was also awake so it was barbaric to do this, the pain was brutal and the aftermath was painful for days. I still struggle with them on and off but I won’t go through that again. I can’t think of any place in your body that would be tolerable to hurt but this is one place that can drive you crazy if you let it, if you find something that really helps please let me know, thanks. ☺️

How do you know you have internal Hemrrohoids? I didn’t have any symptoms and only found out with my first colonoscopy. I was shocked. No pain, no bleeding….nothing. I did have 1 external hemrrohhoid that that had tortured me. It burst though after becoming thrombosed. (Another story.)

When I got my second colonoscopy, several years later, I had no internal hemorrhoids! The same doctor did it. So….mine went away or became undetectable.

My dad had surgery for internal hemorrhoids many years ago due to bleeding. It was successful and he never had any more problems with them. I think there are more modern treatments now.

Good luck!

How do I know that I have internal hemorrhoids, simply had a colonoscopy done about-15 years ago and I was mildly sedated, the doctor pointed to a monitor and said, do you see these four blue veins, those are hemorrhoids and they’re bulging probably just irritated, I mentioned it in a previous post.

I can feel the inflammation and it’s blocking me from partly from going to the bathroom. Still no blood though. It flares up if I sit all day.

I think you probably have the right answer, the worst thing for hemorrhoids is too much sitting, I know it’s part of my flare up but stress is also adding to the pain. I was told to try a gentle laxative called Restoralax, it’s been around for while and it’s helping a little with the pain and increasing bowel movement but you have to drink lots of fluids to help it work better.

Hi, @spade976 - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Great that you came here since you were new to hemorrhoids. Having the feeling that the Last Of Us Fungi is trying to escape your bum sounds not fun at all.

Here's some Mayo Clinic information that may be useful on hemorrhoids:

- Hemorrhoids https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemorrhoids/symptoms-causes/syc-20360268

You mentioned this condition is really making your job life unbearable. Will you share more about how the internal hemorrhoids affect you at work?

I dont really have any intching, bleeding or honestly too much pain. It does feel like a slight blockage when going to the bathroom. I work sitting down all 8 hours and thats where its starts to flare up. I can feel it swollen by the end of the day. It will die down again in like an hour though if i lay donw. I do get up and walk as much as possible throughout the day. Im going to try sitz baths next. Suprised healing hasnt happened yet because like i said, the symptoms seem mild. Especially from what i read.

How are you doing out here? Stay away from donut pillows. I read they make things worse and i kind of found out first hand. Check out Dr. Butlers website. There is a ton of info on there. Good luck. This is "ass." lol Sorry your stressing. We always make it worse than it is in our heads. Try some meditation. Literally like 5 people in my family had it and they all said theres eventually just went away. We will get past this brother and laugh about it later,

@spade976 - I am also sitting for work for many hours per day, and I could see how that would prompt a flareup in hemorrhoids. My only experience with hemorrhoids was around pregnancy, and sitz baths were soothing to me.

How are you doing today?
