New to group

Hello. I had an aortic valve replacement in 2018, 6 weeks later was back in hospital with V-tach. They put in a pacemaker/defibrillator and prescribed Metropol and Mexilatine was fine for 7 years. Last week was in ER with V-tach again more severe. They added amiodrone. Nice to find this group. I know it’s out my hands, following Dr. orders and trusting God, but anxiety about returning to work and continuing my active life style.

My ticker has a couple of problems. Sometimes I don't think about it. Other times I wonder if one of the chambers is going to explode by the end of the day. Anxiety is part of the package. It needs to be restrained, kept on a leash. It doesn't go away.🤷‍♂️

In general, God is my only doctor. He does more than any med and charges nothing.

Amiodarone is a powerful drug to treat arrythmias. It should really help with your VTAC.

You mentioned anxiety. Did you doctors advise that stress and anxiety can cause arrythmias. It is called the fight or flight syndrome. With fright and flight you develop adrenaline. If you don't fight or flight it builds up and can eventually cause panic/anxiety episode as well heart arrythmias.

I think important to let you doctors know about your stress and anxiety. Mental health and physical health are important and affect each other. I take a prescription drug to anxiety/depression and has really helped.

I developed PTSD after my ICD/Pacemaker shocked me 5 times in 24 hours. I was a mess. With consulations and medication I am very active for years now. I even do Sprint Triathlons but at a moderate pace.
