Neuropathy symptoms are worse when I sit or lay down: Anyone else?

Posted by pitepalten @pitepalten, Nov 26, 2021

My problems are worse when I sit or lay down. I now work standing and limit sitting or laying watching tv. When I wake up my arms have fallen asleep. This started 3 months ago and the discomfort is all over but worse in my arms, legs and back. I have had all the tests but no one can find anything. I also have a rash on my neck. It has been there for a week. Doesn’t itch. My dr prescribed 30mg Zymbalta. I take it prior to going to bed. Anyone have similar symptoms?

Mine hurts sitting down , walking or laying down. As for sleeping I wake up every hour. Pain is constant. Any help would be appreciated.

Symptoms in my feet and lower legs are much worse when I elevate my legs in my recliner to watch television or when I go to bed. Increased tingling and electrical shocks feeling, and my feet feel extremely cold, even with a heating pad surrounding them. To touch them, they don’t always feel cold, but I feel an extreme cold sensation when my legs are elevated. Can anyone else relate?

I have read that you should get up and move around walk every 15 20 minutes for a few minutes.I have neuropathy and degenerative disc they seem to work toghether in stiffness and slight pain.I thank God it is not terrible or even moderately severe like it was after they sent me to physical therapy and my back really flaired up.

Yes,I have diabetes2 and neuropathy.I also have degenerative disc back. It is hard to tell when I sit my back will ache and my feet and legs have the neuropathy feel of pain
My doctor an MD said it could be a combination of either condition being primary or secondary. I have had emg that was negative, yet x ray, ct scan and mri say bad back. Two discs at the bottom of spine appear to be gone.
I am going to a Neurologist soon.

I would love to hear if anyone else has more pain when it rains.I'm sure the thinking might be an old wives tail well, I am an old old wife.

I recently started testing after I eat 2 hours after I eat at night and even when I feel like I'm starving I test and sometimes my glucose level will be 180 or 200 or so maybe even a little more and so I don't eat anymore that night and my A1C has gone down to 6.1 yesterday when I got my blood work done at the doctors I'm doing a lot better I eat avocados and salads and peanut butter and good good whole wheat bread no white bread at all no pasta no ice cream I do eat some carbmaster yogurt from Kroger's my neuropathy still seems to be getting a little bit worse so I'm trying to look into seeking help for that before it gets too bad I need to be able to get around I'll soon be 74 and I am caregiver to my 72-year-old wife who doesn't get around very much and who doesn't cook right now

I also just started eating avocados blueberries stuff like that bananas I don't know I'm not sure if the bananas are really good but I I eat them because they help my stomach with the acid acid because they are alkaline at least that's what I read

I'm really concerned about the coffee it helped me feel better in the morning when I'm real achy when I get up but sciatica and degenerative disc and so forth but I read somewhere that the caffeine is not good on your nerves so I'm worried about it temporarily making me feel better but in the long run maybe hurting my neuropathy

I think dampness and cold make a difference.
I would recommend trying tai. chi might like it
I have always wanted to learn from an instructor
Tapes and tv are hard for me.I am 73 I still hav muscle memory of karate and kenpo
I do the moves except for kicks.I just slow them down and add a few tai chi moves I have learned
God bless you.

I had similar symptoms 4 months before my feet started burning. My arms would fall asleep when I slept with them slightly raised . Rash ? I have a titanium implant . And the neuropathy went away when he clean it up for a revision only problem is he put more titanium in there and it came back worse.
