Neuropathy symptoms are worse when I sit or lay down: Anyone else?

Posted by pitepalten @pitepalten, Nov 26, 2021

My problems are worse when I sit or lay down. I now work standing and limit sitting or laying watching tv. When I wake up my arms have fallen asleep. This started 3 months ago and the discomfort is all over but worse in my arms, legs and back. I have had all the tests but no one can find anything. I also have a rash on my neck. It has been there for a week. Doesn’t itch. My dr prescribed 30mg Zymbalta. I take it prior to going to bed. Anyone have similar symptoms?

Does taking clonazepan help with daytime numbness and tingling when sitting and laying down situation?

It helped me relax some I also take Gabapentin and pain medicine as well so I’ve been taken ofc the Clonazepan because of the pain medication but it help me stay relaxed . I just had surgery last Wednesday day before Thanksgiving I had a Boston Scientific Spinal Cord Stimulator implant for almost a year my last resort just taken out from swelling within not to say it wouldn’t work for others but with my condition it made it worse. I have Hereditary small fiber Neuropathy , Spinal Arachnoiditis, it’s a chore daily but I keep pushing forward think positive thoughts is my motto pray 🙏🏻 give it to God Change what you have control of and let the other stuff go worry all the time just makes things worse I’ve learned that channeling it to a positive will be a positive let everything else go . God bless everyone that has these disease’s lord let us see things through your eyes I know I’m not alone in this battle because I have lord Jesus Christ amen 🙏🏻

I only take it at night b/c I am asleep within 45 minutes after taking it. I don't know what would happen if I took it during the daytime. I don't need to sleep during the day, I take 200mg of pregabalin 3 times a day to help with the pain.

I find that sitting still and lying down cause my SFN symptoms to worsen. Mine is from above knee to feet, shoulders to hands and even over my scalp and face. My symptoms are mostly like sunburn and some loss of sensation. I take pregabalin 100 mg three times daily and Oxcarbazine 150 mg three times daily. I am T2D and the doctors suspect that as the root cause. I moderate carbohydrate intake for the most part but have found that if I indulge and let my glucose levels get high, i.e., over 180 then my SFN symptoms seem to flare quite a bit. I haven't found anything on the Internet or a doctor to confirm this, but it does seem to be true for me. I have read that the medical community is finding that SFN is showing up in patients that are pre-diabetic. So, even if you are not currently diagnosed diabetic does not mean that that is a contributing factor.

The other day I had to sit on a stool in a store for a bit. My usually painful legs and numb feet were asleep but I could only feel a bit of pins and needles. When I stood up my legs felt like mush and I thought I would collapse and they’d be calling an ambulance for me. In a minute or two, it started to subside and I felt great relief that no one would have to notify my family that I’d been transported to the hospital. So distressing. I also read an article that says how you walk determines how soon you get dementia. I guess I’m right around the corner from it. 😟

Good morning,
Considering your dose have you noticed Lyrica/pregabalin ever causing you any drowsiness during the day?
