Neuropathy - No cure but can we prevent it?
All of us with neuropathy are focused on what we can do to provide relief for our symptoms but maybe we should also take a look at finding ways to prevent neuropathy. I thought we might be able to glean some information from this upcoming webinar.

I am taking alpha lipoic acid that I got at the Nature Store brand Source Naturals - if you google it you will hear it takes 3-4 weeks to feel something but after 2 or 3 months on it you will improve. It is the 600 mg that I get and am better but I also take medical grade B complex which includes B12 and a few others. Google this alpha lipoic acid - in fact, I bought the last bottle at the store. The owner of the store takes it and he said "it works." It is great for pins and needles and numbness. It is already working and hasn't been very long. But I am also doing acupuncture too. And one magnesium pill so we shall see. She originally said 10 treatments - had my 7th - now she says 12 treatments. Well, not sure about that. Anyway, get that bottle of alpha lipoic acid and take it for at least 2 or 3 months to see if it helps - it is safe to take and googling it will make you feel better about taking it. All these doctors want to do is give you gabapentin and Lyrica - I took Lyrica for a few days at the lowest dose and could hardly walk to my car the fatigue I had. No way. I would rather die than deal with that fatigue.

1 ReactionI'm 58. I am a diabetic since 2017 (A1C 8.7 - 10.7)and major peripheral neuropathy which initially started with my feet (tingling, numb, painful nerve discomfort, nerve strikes, etc..). Until this day(2026) with Diabetes and Peripheral Neuropathy, major anxiety, etc..they eventually spread throughout my body from feet, calves, thighs, waist and hands(fingers) which also included all the awful symptoms.....regardless if you follow doctors orders, meds, insulin, meals, etc.. NO CURE!
After all the doctors, neurologist, specialist, emergency rooms, hospitals, prescribed medications such as (Pregabapentin/gabapentin, Juniva, Metformin, Duloxetine, insulin, etc.. and also purchased massagers, creams, medical devices, and stuff on Amazon to help with neuropathy at no avail....
As of today, I totally regret to spend thousands and thousands of dollars (Out of Pocket and/or Insurance) for diabetes, neuropathy, anxiety, insomnia, etc.
Sadly, serious mental and health pain complications and conditions were experienced as "NO CURE" after all ! The final solution mentioned by mental professional was to consider to amputate feet, and legs, and hands. I gave it some thought but ultimately refused all of it.
After 8 years with such conditions, you DO NOT want the neuropathy (PN-nerve damage) to grow, spread and affect your entire feet, calves, thighs, waist and hands as it is an extremely uneasy, frustrating state of mind, awful and deadly anxiety, stress, insomnia, weak muscles, bad nerves with daily activities, etc..
And many years of experience, I found NO devices, creams, massagers, meds, specialist, doctors, etc. for PN and diabetes which comes with many bad symthoms. I simply have molded and learned to ignore the awful symptoms as it has been a part of my life for many years. It is an extremely miserable way to live into the golden years...
As I feel discomfort and eventually accepted "NO CURES" regardless of managed diabetes or not, I purchased a 2 year dog (German Shepherd) to help encourage, smile, somewhat ignore nerve pain, medical problems and walk at least 4 times a week which helps some body movements, muscles, and little help with bad nerves regardless of the pain. He is amazing! I regret not buying/adoption dog many years ago...as i still want to live a bit longer as I age...
My advice is to eat healthy, daily walks, routine scheduled "exercise' plan and possibly adopt a dog for serious encouragement, motivation, smiles, and most definitely "Save your Money"…! The end is near .....
My prayers are with all of you …
Painful Body Nerves with No Cures!

1 ReactionI also have pain in my toes. My little toes are so sensitive that I can't have anyone touch them. I have found that benfotamine, alpha Lipoic acid and acetyl L Carnitine help with the pain a lot
