Need specific location of special needs restroom at Mayo Rochester

Posted by abcsoup @abcsoup, Feb 19 10:14am

Hi,
My father has to do an enema prior to his treatment and his provider said that there are private special needs restrooms he can use. The website just states "subway" level in Gonda and Mayo buildings. Can someone direct me to the exact location of these special needs restrooms on the Rochester campus? Thank you!

Welcome to Mayo Connect. I have seen special needs restrooms, but can not remember specific location and can not find on any of the maps.
Going to give you two options:
- Contact Concierge services
By phone 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday: 507-538-8438
Email: concierge@mayo.edu

-Or, when you arrive at Mayo, there are information desk by entrances, they will be glad to give you directions to closest one.

Please post any additional questions you have about visiting Mayo.

The best place is in mayo building subway level. On the way to subway to plummer building. Go to subway welcome desk. Go down the hall from there. At the end of the short hallway on the right side. North side of cafeteria past the falcon camera. Ask at welcome desk if you need. Also down the subway from mayo to plummer past the regular restrooms. I send a lot of people there. Good luck. Most of the floors between gonda and mayo buildings also have special needs restroom.

Next time you are there pick up a campus map at a welcome desk. They are marked on the map.

There is a very large equipped SN bathroom on the Lobby level. Go to the info desk right inside the entry door when you arrive at Gonda. The guy will call a staff member for you. Its a locked room and a staff person will need to let you in. Its all set up for what you are asking for.

Lobby level or subway level? We always enter via subway level and that’s the big information desk that I know. If it’s on lobby level, where is that information desk? Thanks so much!

I have added a picture of this bathroom for you to help locate it. It is near Skylight Commons, the patient cafeteria in the Mayo building, subway level.

I have added a few pictures of this location to help navigate your way there. When coming in the subway level, you will go through the security check and the Info Desk will be right ahead of you. Take a left at the Info Desk and you will see the signage for the bathroom.

I have added some pictures of the Dignity Room that is available on Gonda, Lobby Level. It is located just past the Information Desk and will need to be unlocked by a staff member. You can ask someone at the Info Desk to do that for you.

There is an enema prep room in eisenberg building subway level on the way to jacobsen building. I don't know if that is what you are looking for? Don't know what happens in that room. Maybe someone else knows.
