Need short term help in Sarasota

Posted by frankhb @frankhb, Mar 2 4:32pm

My 93 year old mother has covid. She is being cared for by my brother and sister, who are completely overwhelmed. They need some help until my mom recovers and regains her strength. She is currently unable to get out of bed, and needs help for a couple of hours a day with dressing and basic hygiene. If anyone knows of home care help on a short therm basis in Sarasota, please let me know.

@frankhb You might try calling your Area Agency on Aging to see what they can help with. You can also look up home health agencies. Many places will be reluctant to have their employees help because of Covid and the danger of spreading it to other employees. It’s a tough job that your sister and brother have taken on. I wish we could be of more help.

Thanks, Becky. I've spoken to several home health agencies, and found one that seems might be a good match for us. Have forwarded the contact info to the two front line caregivers.

Thanks again.
