Hi Bosco,
I have lumbarsacral and cervcial radiculopathy, also fibromyalgia, so we experience the same symptoms of neurophaotc pain, pins and needles, tingling, muslce weakness etc. I do exercise because if i didn't I would probably be in a wheel chair. The pain and symptoms I experience every day is dibiliating, but a great counsellor taught me the tools to manage my moods and not allow my condition to overwhelm.
This is from a car crash Jan 2013, it's frustrating because I was very active in sport before the crash and it took a long time to overcome my grief of loosing the fit active body I had, that engaged in so many different sports. So I have massages, acupuncture and cupping to reduce the pain and symptoms, breathing exercises, a lot of strengthening and core muscle work to keep my back muscles strong to support my spine. Also, yoga and Qigong for strethcing, movement and my wellbeing. I use a walking aid as my left leg the muscle have been impacted by the nerve impingement and it is in pain 24/7, also, have really bad muscle spasms and I know what causes the spasms, its just keeping on top of my nutrition, movment and vitamin and mineral levels.
Well done with your walking, keep it up , movement is good! At Brooks, was it a psyhio who you saw? Did they talk you through and get you to do some exercises with them to guide you? Or just hand you a leaflet with the exercises? I don't blame you for not having the nerve block injections, as research has shown they are not good for our bonesand the last one I had two years ago caused swelling, reddening to my skin, and created more pain in my L4, L5and S1. Can you swim? Do you swim or had hydro therapy? It really helps my pain and the water is great as it takes the pressure off the limbs and acts as a resistant when you move.
I'm 58, from England live alone and work freelance part time, it's not easy, some days I wonder why do I get up? I question do I want to live the rest of my life with all the symptoms. In the early stages of my condition it crushed me and I gave up. But I have two beautiful grandchildren I want to be a part of their lives growing up, love and nurture them, educate and guide them, give and receive lots of hugs, they are my medicine and keep me going. I guess I have a very resilient mindset, I got occupational health to make adaptions to my home so I can live independently.
I appreciate each day, as I have lost friends who were my age or younger, life is a gift, so I take each day as it comes. If I need to cry, scream, laugh, dance, rest or sleep I do what I need to do to get through my flare up's, migraines or chronic fatigue. I preserve my energy and I get out and live my life through art, dance, theatre, music, nature as tomorrow is never promised.
I hope you can find solutions to make you more comfortable.

2 Reactions@bosco71 you need a 24/7 pain reliever like Buprenorphine Patch that comes in various strengths. You do need PT to strengthen your core muscles. Spinal stenosis does not typically cause spinal pain. I too have multiple disc bulges pressing on nerves but between my exercise and walking daily it’s under control most of the time. If your back muscles and core muscles are weak surgical recovery will be a more difficult and painful.

2 ReactionsI would make an appointment with a pain management doctor and ask about doing a trial of low dose naltrexone. I have chronic pain and ldn has given me my life back. The website ldnresearchtrust.org has good information.
try Zazzee (tart cherry capsules) $20 on Amazon. My entire body was racked with pain for 30 years. 30 YEARS! They said it was OA. Turns out the PAIN is from Gout Arthritis! (in my case). I tried it upon the suggestion a year ago from someone in this group. A few weeks ago, I asked the dr. to put me on Metformin for Insulin Resistance after feeling like skin moving over bones with no muscles. Really difficult movement. Turns out that pain was resolved too! My A1C was only "borderline." For many years, I suffered with this.
The weather change also brings up terrible pain. I have been taking dose opioid (Percocet) for 30 years.
Gratitude - when I am super grumpy, I come to this forum and see that there is always someone worse... Aging is no walk in the park. God Bless.

3 ReactionsDo you have to stop percocet to use low dose naltrexone? I have heard about naltrexone, but my doctor said he didn't think it would work for me since I have been taking percocet and can not just stop easily.
