Nebulizers and efficiency?

Posted by natureisgreat @natureisgreat, Aug 31 9:52am

I have been prescribed 7 ml of solution (Ipratropium Bromide/Albuterol Sulfate and sodium chloride) and use a Medline Aeromist Compact nebulizer. It used to take about a half hour to do this, now almost an hour. I have changed out the cable, mouthpieces etc., to no avail. Is there a faster, more efficient nebulizer out there?

I had no idea. Can you recommend a vender or model or other info?

I’m using a Philips, RESPIRONICS and it works great, every time. Hope this helps.

I used Pari jet nebulizer, as it’s the brand most used for clinical trials and creates mist in a size that your body can use best.

You can combine the ipatropium with the albuterol if desired.

When nebulizing times increase, it’s a sign for me to sanitize my mouthpiece—boiling it for 15 minutes or put it in top track of dishwasher in lingerie bag.

Thank you both! Now I have someplace to start. And I'll change how I clean my pieces.

After washing my mouthpiece I soak in water with vinegar because of hard water in my area.

I’ve read recently that vinegar isn’t enough to kill sone of the more stubborn/hardy germs and it needs to be dishwasher or boiling.
By the way, Pari makes both a smaller travel nebulizer and bulkier desktop model. We got the desktop one at CVS—with their coupon they used it was < $50, I believe.
I got the smaller travel one as well and got my insurer to pay for a portion of it.
