Hello , anyone knows which nebulizer to use specific for Tobramycin inhalation solution.

I have Ombra , just wondering if I can use the same one.

Thanks!

Hi! I just completed a round of Tobramycin. All of the manufacturers directions say it is to be used with the Pari LC plus nebulizer and a Pari compressor. However, neither my doc nor the hospital pharmacist (whom I spoke with at length) mentioned anything to me about this. I did use the Pari LC plus nebulizer because I had a new one and I calculated that possibly the medication needed to be delivered a certain way. However, I have an Ombra compressor and just hooked it up to that. The Pari LC nebulizer costs around $15. Maybe call the manufacturer or talk to your doctor or pharmacist to see what they recommend. This was my first diagnosis of Pseudomonas and my culture was negative shortly after the treatment.

When I was first diagnosed with Pseudomonas last fall, the device they gave me for inhalation of Tobi was horrible, (a Philips device) but I thought it was supposed to work that way. Finally I called the pharmacist and got a new Pari LC Plus which was a day and night experience. Although the Tobi still chokes me, the delivery with the Pari is clean, not spewing medicine all over my face, clothes etc. So, I've only used it a couple of times, so this month's regimen that I do will be the test, but so far I am happy with it.

My compressor is a Medline.

Thanks for the information . Do you mean the PARI LC nebulizer fits in the ombra compressor?
If it does, that mean I will only need to purchase the pari nebulizer.

Yes. Just purchase the Pari LC plus and use it with your Ombra compressor. I used the Pari tubing that came with it (the Ombra tubing seems to have a smaller diameter in my opinion but not sure if this is actually factual). I used the Pari nebulizer exclusively only for the Tobramycin while I was taking it and did regular clearance with my aeroclipse. I can’t understand why they recommend a particular compressor? It’s not like someone is going to go out and buy this particular compressor for the medication.

I was treated with Tobra for Pseudomonas and my drug company sent me the ParaLC and tubing to use with my Mckesson compressor. I was not told to use any special compressor.
