C. diff, SIBO and chronic nausea
I started 8 months ago with either food poisoning or a stomach flu. I have never recovered. I have had every test done and continue to suffer from nausea everyday. In the middle of this I was diagnosed with and treated for c-diff twice but because I didn’t have the classic symptoms the drs at Mayo thought they were false positives. I also was diagnosed and treated for SIBO twice. The nausea everyday which is where this all started never went away. Has anyone had this and come up with a solution?

Thank you. I didn't want to add too much detail. I have been to numerous GIs and hospitals including Johns Hopkins and Georgetown. Nothing seems to be helping.
Has anyone looked at your gall bladder? I had low level queasiness for months, and that was the source of the problem. It was removed, and while the nausea didn't stop instantaneously, it quit entirely about a month after the surgery.
Have you checked your ✔️ blood pressure when you get nausea it might cause by low blood pressure if you're standing up. 🤮 Sometimes low blood pressure can cause you to have symptoms like nausea it might be like postural postural blood pressure something like that.
Thank you for your input! Much appreciated!
I have had constant nausea for several years. Doctors have tried several medications nothing helped just made things worse. I talked to a nurse and she suggested that I asked my doctor to prescribe a low dose of haldol. I have been on haldol for almost a month and my nausea is at a 3 from a 7. I also had constant abdominal spasms and haldol has helped that also.
Sounds like some of the effects I’m having too. As soon as I wake up my stomach feels like it’s inflamed and it feels jittery, slight nausea and lightheadedness. These symptoms last all day and up to around 9:00pm when they subside. This had all started about three years ago after going through chemotherapy for breast cancer . The first chemo treatment I got c-diff and was put on antibiotics. Only had two chemo treatments before getting mastectomy. I went to GI doctor and was put on Nortriptyline. Doesn’t help the symptoms during the day. What does haldol do and I’m wondering if it could help my symptoms.
I also have a history of A-Fib diagnosed at the same time as breast cancer. Haven’t had an episode of A-Fib for about year.
Thanks. I think it is some of the foods I eat. What is Haldol? I never took it. Be good.
I would guess, ( I am not a doctor!) but it sounds to me like you have excess stomach acid. I have it from taking pain pills. My doctor gave me a prescription for something like Prilosec. I take the pill first thing in the morning and get relief all day. I take tums at night. Common side effects of Nortriptyline include nausea. I'd bring this up to your doctor.
sounds like excess stomach acid. Try Prilosec or Tums and see if it makes a difference!
