C. diff, SIBO and chronic nausea

Posted by jillannw @jillannw, Dec 25, 2018

I started 8 months ago with either food poisoning or a stomach flu. I have never recovered. I have had every test done and continue to suffer from nausea everyday. In the middle of this I was diagnosed with and treated for c-diff twice but because I didn’t have the classic symptoms the drs at Mayo thought they were false positives. I also was diagnosed and treated for SIBO twice. The nausea everyday which is where this all started never went away. Has anyone had this and come up with a solution?

I, personally, have had good success with a RELIEF BAND that my pain specialist recommended. It looks much like a watch. It works much like a TENS Unit. I prefer the stlye that has replaceable batteries and not rechargeable. You can find it at this link: https://www.reliefband.com/ .. also on Amazon. There are other brands that may work as well and cost less.

Best of luck

My husband has chronic nausea every day. Has had all gi test and medicines. He says he can’t go on like this. Nothing works. Is there a doctor anywhere that can help him. He is 81 and suffering everyday.

What specialist are you taking your husband to? I would think gastroenterology. Have they done any testing? Bloodwork? Ct of his abdomen? Have you told them how severe it is? That your poor husband can’t go on like this? Explain to his Dr his quality of life right now. Sometimes you really have to advocate for yourself or a loved one. Don’t take nothing for an answer. I had severe nausea with all my pregnancies for like 6 months straight. I didn’t want to get out of bed. Have they tried Zofran? Compazine? They helped me.

I had chronic nausea for 4 years after colon surgery. I felt horrible. I just sat in my recliner watching TV. My gastroenterologist ran me through a lot of tests...finally he prescribed NORTRIPTYLINE 25MG CAPSULE.
this worked like magic. I take one capsule at bedtime.
Please ask your doctor to give it a try. I will pray for a positive result.

@charles826, Have you seen this other discussion on chronic nausea?

I agree with @katgob about seeking help for your husband at a major health facility like Mayo Clinic or a teaching hospital. Are you able to go with your husband to talk with a doctor to see if you can get a referral to a specialist?
