Naturally Rising B12 & constantly unwell. Family history of AML

Posted by britpaula @britpaula, Feb 17 1:47pm

Over the past few years my B12 levels have risen to above 1700 pg/ml and at the same time I’ve continued to suffer from extreme fatigue and depression. Sleep study showed low number of apnea events and Dr put me on CPAP which has made almost no difference. My other labs are all within normal range. My big concern is my grandfather died at the age of 62 from Acute Myloid Leukemia and I understand high Vit B12 levels can be a very early indicator of Leukemia. I’ve been searching for some answers / preventative treatments for years and getting nowhere. I’m getting older and no better and I’m super frustrated. Does anyone have any thoughts / experiences or suggestions on this?

Just a thought, but are you a big red meat eater? especially just before blood test? could that be effecting the high levels?

@samclembeau Thankyou. No, I very rarely eat red meat or any product containing VitB. This is a conscious choice to not make my levels any higher.
