Natural treatment
I have been on a five year journey, avoiding prescription meds and going a natural route. I promised I would reveal my stats after my latest bone density scan. My neck has gone from -2.10 to -1.5. My spine has gone from -3.4 to -2.6. Fracture risk has gone from 16% to 12%. I still have osteoporosis, but the numbers keep improving so I will still avoid taking medicine for as long as I can.

1 ReactionNo secret 😊. I walk at least 30 minutes every day. I have a 10 minute weight routine that I do five days a week. And I use a bone building supplement powder every day, stirring it into my coffee in the morning.

4 ReactionsIs the bone building supplement the same as a protein supplement in terms of ingredients?
I don’t know what ingredients are in protein supplements but the bone supplement I use has only two active ingredients: “FORTIBONE (5 grams) and VERISOL® (2.5 grams), which are proprietary, clinically proven Bioactive Collagen Peptides sourced from 100% grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine hide”

1 ReactionThat's great! I choose to go to the natural route myself! I met a chiropractor who gave me this recipe / regimen to take and I take it every day and I try to walk 30 to 45 minutes everyday but I need to add more weight-bearing activities but I do the yard work and other things as well but I do need to start weight lifting. But I take 3 products the first is 6,000 units of vitamin D3 the second is 300 mg of magnesium glycinate and the third is a product called bone matrix made by a company called heart & soil.
I had asked for a baseline dexa scan I believe I was 55 years old my doctor said I'm not sure if we'll even be able to get approved for you to get the scan that early and I didn't even realize that they had increased the age so high so he put in an order and we did the scan and it wasn't just a baseline I actually had osteoporosis especially of the spine and then one hip had osteopenia and the other was okay then I started this regimen and then two years later my spine osteosporosis was gone and now I only have osteopenia in my hips which I want to get rid of but I was very thrilled with turning my osteoporosis around without pharmaceutical medications with nasty side effects. I'm new to this site I wanted to post this so I'm not sure if I'm just commenting on your stuff and everyone will be able to read this as well or if you will be the only one that will be able to read this so if you are the only one that can see this for you paste and post this on the site for me I would greatly appreciate it!! To one rebel to another I'm very proud of you!

1 ReactionThat is fantastic! I was late getting started on a plan and that put me into full blown osteoporosis. But I am determined to stay on the “natural” approach and hope my numbers keep improving . It may not be right for everyone…but it is for us 😊

3 Reactions@sandrajhunt Can you share your 10 minute weight routine please?
I don’t really know how to put into words what it is that I do exactly. But there are a lot of videos on YouTube about weight exercises for seniors and weight exercises for osteoporosis. I just looked at a whole lot of them and narrowed it down to the ones that felt right or comfortable for me. I also do 30 chair rises a day. I sit on the edge of a sturdy chair and stand with my arms folded against my chest and then sit and quickly rise again for 30 repetitions.
