Naltrexone

I have used low dose naltrexone for almost a year. It's the only thing that has really helped my RA in over 40 years.
I got it from AgelessRX. They give a consultation and prescribe it by mail order. It has also helped with sjogren's symptoms.
I highly recommend it!

I'm using LDN for my prednisone tapering and transition to kevzara. I'm on 3mg taken before bedtime. I really think it helps me sleep better by reducing the pain. My rheumatologist prescribed it after I asked about it. He said that most doctors either don't know about it or are just learning about it and that they can be reluctant to prescribe it because it's an off label use. My rheumatologist is late middle aged and has a wide network of physician friends. LDN seems to be garnering a lot of interest for it's potential in treatment of neurological and autoimmune pain.

My former rheumatologist refused to up my 3.0 mg dose of LDN since he frankly did not know all that much about it. My new rheumatologist increased my LDN to 4.5, and it has made a world of difference in my ability to stay asleep!

I've been on LDN for 7 yrs. I credit it for putting my Crohn's in remission. And I was on it when I was diagnosed with Sjogren's and Small Fiber Neuropathy. I should be in a lot of pain, but I'm Not. Is the LDN? Who knows? But I will stay on my 2mg.

I take 2mg low dose naltrexone. My rheumatologist prescribed it and I get it from a compounding pharmacy. It is an off label use so it is not covered by insurance. My pharmacy charges $60 for a one month supply. I have peripheral spondyloarthritis and undifferentiated connective tissue disease. She did say that it's typically used for fibromyalgia but said I could try it. I had to titrate up to the 2mg. At first I didn't really notice that it was doing anything. I stopped it for a while and definitely felt worse so I started again. I guess it does make a difference but it hasn't helped completely. It just seems to take the edge off. I asked her if we could increase the dosage a while ago but she wouldn't. I may ask again. I've been on it for about 2 years.

My local compounding pharmacy charges $65 for 30 days and $110 for 90 days.

@kjoed53 Wow, the $110 for a 90 day supply is a good price. I don't think I can get that, but I'm going to ask if they'll do a 90 day. Thanks for the info.

I use Naltrexone in my compounded RX for lichen sclerosis. My compounding pharmacy does Lidocaine 10%, Naltrexone 0.5% in Petrolatum. The pharmacist reached out to pain doctors to try and help me. I was grateful for her help. This combinations works a bit better for me to numb the painful area. I hope all of you find a doctor who can help you with your serious conditions.
