Myeloma: Revlimid and steroids: How quickly do side effects subside?
My Mother has just finished week 2 of her first 3 week course of Ravlidamid, steroids, anti gout drug and ant-acid drug.
Week one wasn't too bad but at end of this week, she is extremely tired, shaking badly, just got over sore throat, has a bad cough, loss of appetite and insomnia.
She has one more week to go, then a week off from just the main revlidamide drug.
My question is - generally how quickly do the side effects stop in between cycles?
Thanks in advance

The second week was my worst week. I completely blacked out, but most of my side effects started tapering of going into the third cycle. My taste was the last thing to come back.
I was on Revlimid for MDS and it about did me in. I was so weak I could barely walk. On top of that, the MDS with the low Hemoglobin made me weak, too. I eventually had a bone marrow biopsy (2nd) and was told all of a sudden the MDS was gone (Hemoglobin was good) so the doctor instantly took me off the Revlimid but now my platelets are sky high. It was a good 4-5 weeks after I went off the Revlimid to start to feel good again. Now I am on Hydro and Anagrelide and I am back to feeling awful again. My platelets are in the 600 to 700 range. The doctor said she knows of no other meds for me to take. I have blood tests every 2 weeks. Two weeks ago, the platelets had dropped to in the 300's. Next blood test they were back up to the 500's. How can this be? I'm starting to question the equipment doing the results.
