Myelofibrosis or long Covid?

Posted by samlupowitz @samlupowitz, Jan 25, 2023

I live in Florida.

I have Myelofibrosis, which brings anemia, but my current lab results don’t support my symptoms (e.g., fatigued all the time).

So, in order to determine what’s “really” causing my symptoms, I’m wondering if I should come to Mayo to see Myelo doctors, the stem cell doctors “and” the group that’s now focusing on long Covid?

Had the uncontrollable itching about 5 years ago. No specialist had any idea what the cause was. Xanax controlled it and then it passed altogether. So, I thought it was caused by stress. Wrong! It was only after I was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis that the hematology oncologist said that the itching was probably the start of the disease.

Night sweats, extreme weight loss and chronic fatigue galore!

by samlupowitz @samlupowitz, 2 Nice to talk to a fellow Florian, My chronic extremely fatigue is so bad that I sleep more then my cats. Can't keep eyes wake, uncontrollable itching and list goes on.... wish or hoped for weight loss 200 lb but gained 40lb since hospitalized in sept; now 240 lb ugh! It's scary for weight loss if you don't have lot to loss. Having chronic ear infections; antibiotics Sept. Oct and Nov 2022 (skipped Dec but 2 weeks on antibiotic again 2023) Hospitalized for infections 2022 and "could been diagnosed with same high blood count 2020" Doctors blame it on infection - unknown PV, YES! I agree with you by samlupowitz @samlupowitz, It's the starting point and your body is telling "something is wrong" They the doctors don't seem to care until you get "Cancer diagnosis" My heart goes out to you! Prayers my friend Inverness Florida

Try Xanax for the itching. Itching is hell. The Xanax stopped it. Buy generic (Alprazolam). It’s cheap.
