Mycobacterium Avium Terrium

What is quality of life for my husband? He is the Infectious Disease Doctor 1st case. Anyone have helpful advice. He also has COPD.

@artteacher Welcome to Mayo Connect. We have a larger group of people who have a variety of Mycobacteria infections, but this is a new one to me, and I am unable to find any references to it.
Can you possibly check the exact name that was attached to the diagnosis, so it might be easier to chat with someone here?
Has any treatment been discussed?

I also had weird mycobacterium, paraense. I googled and it was identified only in 2015. My highly experienced ID doc was nonplussed, she just prescribed the drugs that the culture was sensitive to, and I did that. I had the impression that the particular species is not too important, just that you know the sensitivity.
