My portal brought me a test result today from sputum sample, Dr. swensons office.
I need help, I’m scared.
Have any of you had it and been treated? Bon

Yes, I had pseudomonas. Treatment went fine. Pain in the neck, but it worked. Actually, treating pseudomonas is easy, straightforward, compared to treating mac. I hope this reassures you, I owe you one because your advice to deep breathing (& hold it) changed my life of nebulizing.
Hello Linda, I am so happy the deep breathing thing helped you. That is FANTASTIC! Wow.
Did you have pseudomonas fluorescens? That is the one showing on MY sputum. I looked it up and it seems not many people get it and it is not as virrilent as the other ones. Can you tell me how they treated it? What antibiotic? Did you have symptoms from it? Thanks Bon
If I am understanding these papers correctly, P. fluorescens is considered a transient colonizer that occasionally causes pathology. And when it does it is eradicated more easily than P. aeruginosa.
(new account so I can't post links directly but I took a screenshot if you want to read up on it)
thks for your response. i told dr swenson about it and he wasn't concerned at all...evidently this strain is nothing to worry about it.......
Could you explain what is meant by, colonizer?
Jump to this post
colonization is the presence of bacteria on a body surface (like on the skin, mouth, intestines or airway) without causing disease in the person.
Hi there Irene...how are you? Thank you for your comment about pseudonomas fluorescens . Yes, Dr. Swenson was not concerned about this at all. I think of all the microscopic bacteria etc floating around in the air , that we can only see thru a microscope....it must be a daunting sight to behold. Good thing we can't see it....lol
I just read that someone with pseudomonas was given antibiotics. Dr. Swenson told me not to worry about my "light pseudomas flourescens " and gave me nothing. Which is it, yes or no. Every day my fear grows and grows from hearing conflicting things about this damned disease.
