My muscles, including my tongue is on fire
This is my first time actually asking all question. 55 yr old, COVID about 2022. I have been to a LONG COVID program but I perhaps didn't grasp how it works. Most of my symptoms are neurological. Electric vibrations, unspecified ataxia, POTS, a small stroke at some point , we don't know when. Memory, cognition, more. Tongue swelling is not new. Airway hasnt been an issue. Tongue swells causing ascalloped indents on edges and is painfull. At the same time, my airms, legs, fingers and toe muscles feel like they have hot deep electric pain. Pressure from serfaces can hurt. I am noticing my tongue flaring with my muscle pain tend to coordinate and then moor worsening issues sometimes folow. This is small in the large picture of what i have going. I am woundering if this could be a signal of something?

@1ladybird
Have you been to an endocrinologist to check your thyroid function and neurologist for MRI (brain/spine) and EMG/nerve conduction and small fiber neuropathy skin punch biopsy testing?
It define sounds like you are experiencing neurological symptoms. It may include trigeminal nerves. I have a form that of burning mouth syndrome that gets triggered/flares like when I get dental work/have mouth wide open for a period of time.
Thankyou, yes I have thyroid issues and see the endocrinologist. I have brought up these issues but it tends to be brushed away.
I had nerve testing back in 2020ish which was fine. It was a punch biopsy and nerve conduction.
My last, I believe, i had the CT AND MRI in May. It was for ataxia hospitalization so I believe it covered spine and brain. It was normal except for existing matter in brain stem from existing small stroke.
It's almost like an allercic inflammation feeling inside of me. My toes have now flared up with large swelling blisters.
It's a humiliating jumble of symptoms.
Is there a specific type of neurologist or other direction?
It fels like things are ramping up again so i am searching for an answer, some hope.
Hi @1ladybird. I may have missed prior post and hope this helpful. I also have thyroid issues and have had new post covid similar reactions that were helped when food/reaction diary kept to pinpoint new food histamine/sensitivity/
allergic reactions in so many atypical ways. Found some relief with eliminating certain foods/spices and seems activity for me also intensifies reactions🙃. Wishing you the quickest healing possible🌈
