I am a few days away from 81. Sorry he has copd but 60% is better than most. Yes he may want to rest more due to copd and his age. His body will let him know when he needs to rest. He is fortunate to have a child to care for him. God bless.

Just remember a lung function test result is NOT 60% lung capacity, BUT 60% of a healthy 86 year old man. To me that is depressing, and I am around 40% at 67 yr old.

hi waterboy so sorry you are going thru this disease. I wasn't trying to make anyone depressed I just needed some answers to help my father. I took care of my mother with advanced ovarian cancer and it was tough. I'm trying to help my dad feel better. I checked with my fathers lung doctor to see if I could add some vitamins and herbs and they said yes that it couldent hurt. hope you have a great holiday susan
