My 7 year old son foamed at the mouth

Posted by daniel41 @daniel41, Sep 24 9:40pm

My son is 7 years old and I found foam coming out of his mouth suddenly. Is this a sign of a serious issue?

He was just foaming at the mouth right before his bedtime, and the foam was like covering his mouth and was spilling from the mouth.

@daniel41
Could it have been a seizure?
Was he up, walking & talking acting as usual or was he unconscious on the floor or acting confused?
Did the foam look bloody?
Any damage to his tongue or cheeks?
Personally, I would take him to see his physician or to the emergency room.
Take care,
Jake

I second Daniel!
call your personal pediatrician. Check son’s mouth for substances, stains on lips, tongue etc. if he is talking ask if he has eaten or tasted anything etc.
if he is unconscious or cannot converse call fire dept or police for medical aid or transport.
In prayer…d

Am an RN and mother of four grown kids.

1. Was he just finished brushing his teeth?

2. Was he conscious?
