Muscle Twitches Throughout Body
I’ve been experiencing muscle twitches throughout my body for several months. It is a quick jolt or flutter and can be mild to extremely startling. It mostly happens while I sleep or when I’m very relaxed, but I’ve also noticed it in my feet while standing or walking.
It affects most parts of my body. Once my jaw felt a “zap” and my mouth involuntarily open wide, held that way and then clamped closed. My hand has jolted up and then down, I’ve felt the sensation in my neck, chest, thighs, arms, and feet.
At night I noticed it every few minutes. I eventually sleep and am either awakened fully or stir and go back to sleep. I fell this week while walking a dirt trail and I wonder if it was a twitch in my foot that tripped me . It happened so fast that I’m unsure.
My primary did a physical test for Parkinson’s and did blood work and said it’s probably RLS. I don’t want medicine to mask the symptoms. I want to k ow what it is I have. My sister has served RLS and it’s nothing like what I’m experiencing.
I’ve experienced weakness in my thighs on and off for a couple of years. It’s happened maybe 4 times where I’ve walked and felt like there was nothing there to support me, but my legs moved anyway. However that feeling lasted only minutes to maybe a couple of hours.
Doctor would not give me a referral to a neurologist. Should I push it or let it go?

Yes. I just had one last week that made my entire thigh jump for 3 days. They are weird things that after 20 years I’m still not used to. But I don’t worry about them anymore.
Are you taking any medications? Wellbutrin/bupropion gives me these jerks where my hand, arm, leg, or even torso will move involuntarily. I’ve also had the bladder spasms.
